Types of Asexual Reproduction:

1. Budding: offspring develop as a growth on the body of the parent
ex. hydra, parasites

2. Fragmentation: body of the parent breaks into two distinct pieces; pieces can produce an offspring.
ex. planarians

3. Binary fission: equal division of a single celled organism into two distinct organisms
ex. bacterium

4. Vegetative fragmentation: when an plant is split into fragments and each of these fragments develop into mature, fully grown individuals that are a clone of the original organism
ex. strawberries (produce new plants out of rhizomes)

5. Conjugation: the transfer of genetic material between bacteria through direct cell to cell contact, or through a bridge-like connection between the two cells
ex. bacteria
